Welcome to TracerScout. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the TracerScout website, services, and any related content (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

TracerScout is a global news verification platform that helps users fact-check claims, links, screenshots, and social media content by searching reports from thousands of news sources across more than 100 countries. We provide evidence-based summaries with links to original sources. We do not offer opinions — only aggregated journalistic coverage.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. User Accounts

  • You may need to create an account to access certain features (Pro and Power plans).
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.
  • You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

  • Pro Plan: $9 per month – 25 checks/day, 100 saved reports, 90-day history.
  • Power Plan: $19 per month – Unlimited checks, unlimited saved reports, lifetime history.
  • Payments are processed through third-party payment providers.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled.
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. No refunds for partial months unless required by law.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with notice.

5. User Content

  • You may submit text, links, screenshots, or other content (“User Content”) for verification.
  • You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, process, analyze, and display it solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
  • You represent that your User Content does not violate any third-party rights and complies with applicable laws.

6. Intellectual Property

  • The Service, its design, logos, code, and all original content (excluding your User Content) are owned by TracerScout or its licensors.
  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our prior written permission.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • Submit content that is defamatory, obscene, abusive, or infringes on others’ rights.
  • Attempt to overload, hack, or disrupt the Service.
  • Resell, rent, or commercially exploit the Service without permission.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service except as explicitly permitted.

8. Accuracy and Disclaimers

  • TracerScout aggregates publicly available news reports. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any fact-check results.
  • News sources may contain bias or errors. Our Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
  • We are not responsible for decisions made based on our reports.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TracerScout shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold TracerScout, its founders, employees, and affiliates harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States (or the jurisdiction of your choice — we recommend specifying one, e.g., Delaware, USA). Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised Terms on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
